The Slack emoji for approved is ✅ :white_check_mark:, the green check box. For "perfect", react 💯 :100: or 🤌 :pinched_fingers: (the chef's kiss). For "sounds good" or "sure", 👍 :+1: and 👌 :ok_hand: are the usual picks. Type the code in a message, or send +:white_check_mark: to react to the latest message. We checked every code against emoji-data, the set Slack's emoji picker uses, and typed the less common ones (:pinched_fingers:, :star-struck:, :ok_hand:, :heavy_check_mark:) into Slack's message box on 28 September; each came up as a suggestion.
Approvals only work if everyone reads the emoji the same way. Pick one emoji per meaning, write it in the channel's pinned message, and do not use ✅ for "I saw this".

What each approval emoji means to readers
- • ✅ means done or approved. Many teams also use it for "task finished", covered in Slack emoji for done. If the channel uses ✅ for both, agree which one it means there.
- • 👍 is agreement, not sign-off. It says "sounds good", which is weaker than "approved".
- • 👌 can read as rude. In some countries the OK hand is an insult, and it has also been used as a hate symbol online. In an international team, 👍 is safer.
- • 💯 and 🤌 are praise. They are for "perfect" in a chat, not a formal review.
- • 👀 is not approval. It means "I'm looking at it"; see what does the eyes emoji mean in Slack.

Text emoji say exactly one thing, so nobody has to guess:

"Spam emoji" means two different things:
