Here's what I did:
I turned Amphetamine on with all its advanced settings - triggers, schedules, everything.
The result?
Still going "Away" after 10 minutes.
What's the problem?
In order to keep your Slack status active, keeping your screen on isn't enough.
You need to interact with Slack or have movements regularly in order to stay green.
Using Amphetamine to keep you on is just like leaving your porch light on to convince the mailman you're home.
What Amphetamine Actually Does
Amphetamine is basically Caffeine on steroids - it's a keep-awake app with way more options. You can schedule when to keep your Mac awake, set triggers based on which apps are running, all that stuff.
But what it does is prevent Mac sleep. Not Slack idle.
Your Mac can be wide awake with Amphetamine running, and Slack will still mark you as away. Because Slack doesn't care if your computer is asleep. It only cares if you're actually using Slack.
What Slack Green Does
Letting your status go "away" is really annoying.

So we reverse-engineered slack's status checking mechanism and found out ways to send api calls to the slack server using the personal status check api key.
