No, it doesn't. I tested this myself.
Here's what I did:
I turned Caffeine on, clicked "Activate for: Indefinitely"
The result?
Still going "Away" after 10 minutes.
What's the problem?
In order to keep your Slack status active, keeping your screen on isn't enough.
You need to interact with Slack or have movements regularly in order to stay green.
Using Caffeine to keep you on is just like leaving your porch light on to convince the mailman you're home.
What Caffeine Actually Does
Caffeine is just a simple menu bar app that stops your Mac from going to sleep. That's all it does.
It keeps your screen on and prevents sleep mode. Nothing more.
Here's the thing - Caffeine only talks to macOS. It has no idea Slack even exists.
Your Mac can be wide awake with Caffeine running, and Slack will still mark you as away. Because Slack doesn't care if your computer is asleep. It only cares if you're actually using Slack.
What Slack Green Does
