We uploaded six workspace icons to a test Slack workspace: 100 px, 1024 px, a wide image, a transparent PNG and two oversize files. What Slack accepted, what it stored, and how to remove an icon.

We renamed a free-plan Slack workspace and watched what changed: the sidebar, the search box and the default icon updated in an open tab within seconds, and the URL stayed the same.

Slack forwards one message at a time. We checked the message menu, shift-click and the forward dialog, then tested three ways to move 10 messages at once: a thread, a copied range, and a script that posts links.

Working PowerShell for Slack: Invoke-RestMethod to a webhook, chat.postMessage with a bot token, Block Kit, and a file upload. Every script was run in PowerShell 7.6.6 against a real Slack workspace, with its output.

We renamed a Slack app and its bot user eight times in a test workspace. Which names changed, how fast Slack showed them, the App Home edit that never reached Slack, and the exact validation messages.

Slack은 2026년 10월 저장한 메시지를 나중에 탭에서 사이드바의 저장됨(영어 화면에서는 Saved)으로, 리마인더를 해야 할 일 탭으로 옮겼습니다. 저장이 누구에게 보이는지, 리마인더가 무엇을 하는지, 저장한 메시지가 삭제되면 어떻게 되는지 시험했습니다.

볼 수 없습니다. Slack은 관리자에게 검색어 기록을 주지 않습니다. 무료 워크스페이스의 기본 소유자로 확인해 보니 관리자 분석은 워크스페이스 전체 합계뿐이었고, 접근 로그와 분석 API는 거부됐습니다. Enterprise에서는 하루 검색 횟수가 보입니다. 내 최근 검색이 어디에 남는지와 관리자에게 보이는 다른 것도 정리했습니다.

Slack 검색 연산자로 결과를 좁힐 수 있습니다. in:#채널, from:@이름, with:@이름, before:, after:, on:, during:, has::이모지:, is:saved, has:pin, is:thread, "구문", -단어, rep*. 모든 수식어를 예시와 날짜 형식과 함께 정리하고 직접 테스트했습니다.

Slack에서 글머리 기호를 만들려면 줄 맨 앞에 * 나 - 와 공백을 입력하거나 Cmd+Shift+8을 누릅니다. 테스트해 보니 Tab으로 5단계까지 중첩되고, 마크업 모드에서는 목록이 꺼지며, API mrkdwn 텍스트에는 목록이 없지만 markdown 블록에는 있었습니다.

데스크톱에서는 환경설정, 알림, Sounds & appearance에서, 휴대폰에서는 알림, 소리에서 Slack 알림음을 바꿉니다. Slack 안의 파일로 13개 소리를 측정하고, 데스크톱 소리가 계정을 따라오는 이유와 소리 파일을 바꾸면 앱이 깨지는 이유도 정리했습니다.

Mac에서는 로그인 항목에서 Slack을 빼고, Windows에서는 작업 관리자에서 사용 안 함으로 바꿉니다. Mac 단계를 macOS 26.5.2에서 직접 해 보고, Slack 4.52.171의 시작 코드를 읽어 Slack이 다시 켜지는 이유를 설명합니다.

유료 플랜은 워크스페이스가 있는 동안 메시지를 보관합니다. 무료에서는 메시지가 많은 채널에서 정확히 90일 전까지만 보였고 그보다 오래된 것은 나오지 않았습니다. 실제 설정 화면과 선택지도 실었습니다.

Slack은 팔로우하는 스레드의 답글만 알려 줍니다. 스레드 팔로우와 해제, 채널의 Follow every thread를 웹에서 직접 해 보고, 각각의 위치와 동작을 정리했습니다.

We ran the pablovarela/slack Terraform provider against a real Slack workspace: create, update, drift, import, adopt and destroy a channel, plus the exact errors for bad names and missing scopes.

Slack publishes no fixed IP range for the requests it sends to your app. We logged 80 real requests from Slack over 73 minutes: 58 different addresses, all in AWS us-east-1. What that means for a firewall allowlist, and what to check instead.

Apple Shortcuts has no Slack status action, but its Get Contents of URL action can call Slack's API. We built a shortcut that sets a 60-minute status, ran it on macOS 26.5.2, and added a second one that posts a message through a webhook.
